This year's campaign by Havaianas, entitled as "Brazilian Cuts", it pays tribute to the Brazilian culture, showing the different aspects of more than 60 countries where the company is on sale. The campaign consists about three ads, all resulting from a combination of images of Havaianas with brazilian elements and some others less known. Green Roofs

Ecology, economy and esthetic. The "Green Roofs" as they are known worldwide is a strong trend in architecture, and certainly a new way of living and to brighten the roof of buildings in big cities, where green spaces are increasingly scant or absent. Planting different types of vegetation on roofs of buildings helps the ecosystem, reduces pollution in major cities, and bring more harmony and welfare of residents.
The Green Roofs are an increasingly visible trend in big cities like New York, Vancouver, Tokyo, Singapore and Toronto. In Toronto it was created a plan to encourage Green Roofs, which includes both its installation in existing buildings as in those be constructed, in order to achieve 50% to 75% of coverage.

Bio: Gabrielle Coco Chanel

Picasso called her "the woman with the most sense in Europe". George Bernard Shaw gave her the title "fashion wonder of the world". Inarguably unique, Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel developed her own creativity to become an uncompromising visionary, the designer who invented 20th century women's fashion.

Gabrielle Chanel took on this nickname after her 1905 performance of the song "Qui qu'a vu Coco dans le Trocadero" for a crowd of uniformed admirers at La Rotonde, a music hall in a small provincial town.

At a time when it was unheard of for women to call the shots, Chanel founded an internationally successful business. This avant-garde attitude earned her a coterie of creative virtuosos.
Picasso, Salvador Dali, Stravinsky and Diaghilev were just a few of the admirers who fell under the spell of her supreme talent and legendary wit. Whether as lovers, benefactors, or recipients of her own generosity Chanel attracted some of the most powerful, talented and eccentric men of her days.

Chanel was the first designer to create a boutique that offered its customers the chance to try out a "total look" in a non-fussy environment. The hundred shops bearing her name today continue her tradition of harmony and minimalism, allowing breathing space for the products - and the customers.

Chanel built her business from scratch, and all her life maintained the desire to remain staunchly independent. Today her company remains privately owned, making it something of a rarity in the luxury market. Mademoiselle Chanel's avant-garde thinking, which made The House of CHANEL unique at the beginning of the last century, is still modern today. "Nothing is as beautiful as an empty space. It needs to be properly furnished, with quiet things".

Chanel continues to transcend conventions and re-invent chic. Artistic director
Karl Lagerfeld assertively and whimsically pushed the boundaries of the unmistakable Chanel look, reacting intuitively to the speed of the changing times.

Music: Lykke Li - "Dance, Dance, Dance"

Lykke Li has become one of my favourite singers for a while. I love her voice and her songs are just unique... I think she is the only one who has brought a lot of "new music" during this decade, as did Björk in the 90's. "Dance, Dance, Dance" is my Lykke's most-recent-favourite-song now, and by the way, a few weeks ago I have published here another video from her called "I'm Good, I'm Gone", I think you'd like to see it too. I also encourage you to Youtube for some more songs, you will love it!

Karl Lagerfeld to leave Chanel?

According to several blogs, Karl Lagerfeld might be about to leave Chanel. One of these bloggers is Diane Pernet, who claims that if this becomes true, Albert Elbaz will be Lagerfeld's substitute at the french maison, and Olivier Theyskens will replace him at Lanvin.
This is so strange for me, Lagerfeld has been the Chanel icon for many years and now he's leaving? Humm.. I hope not!

Chanel: Cruise 2009/10 Fashion Show in Venice

On May 14, Chanel presented its 2009/2010 cruise collection at Lido Beach, in
Venice. I totally loved this runway show! First because of the show itself...at the beach...in Venice? Very original, elegant and inspire people with the Summer mood. Then the looks are great, I love the marine style we can see in almost all the clothes.

Last year's D&G Dolce & Gabbana summer collection was inspired by this marine look, and I find it very vintage and sexy. See the main looks below, as well as the runway video.
