The fabulous Isabella Blow was the epitome of English eccentricity, discovering the talent of some of fashion's most recognisable and important figures. She committed suicide in 2007, aged 48.

Her thirty year career in fashion began as Anna Wintour's assistant at American Vogue, however she is best-known for images of her in Philip Treacy's hats and her admiration for Alexander McQueen, buying his entire first collection after he graduated from Central St Martins.

Isabella’s husband, Detmar Blow and Tom Sykes penned the "Blow by Blow" book, published by HarperCollins on 2nd September 2010.

  1. What a stunning cover photo! I can't wait to see this book. I've always loved her eccentricity.

    LaChapelle did a beautiful portrait of her and McQueen back in 1997 (in front of a burning castle!) and it always comes to mind when I think of Isabella Blow. They looked like they had a great time on that photo shoot . . .
