Another complimentary vision of Maison Martin Margiela’s take on femininity. MM6 garments draw their inspiration from and lend themselves to the more casual moments of life, often with a humoristic twist. MM6 combines garments, shoes and accessories.
The Fall/Winter collection is playing with volumes and mixing several influences - from the motorcycle world, elements of workwear, injections of distorted lumberjack to reworking classics in unusual fabrics.
The new MM6 collection is now available in Maison Martin Margiela stores.

Erkan Çoruh - A synthesis between Islamin fashion and Western culture
Muslim women living in the West; religious and political issues do inspire Turkish designer Erkan Çoruh to find, through his collections, a balance between Islamic attire and Western elegance.
In his Autumn/Winter 2010 collection Çoruh mixed Islamic traditions with Western styles by rethinking the burqa, integrating it in jackets and shirts, using the draped motifs that characterise this garment for dresses and pants, matching skinny trousers with long robes in a gender-bending game to discover new balances through traditional garments.

"Kalimat" exhibition at the Gallery of Light at DUCTAC, Dubai
Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre presents Kalimat, an annual exhibition capturing the elegance of the Arabic written word and its use in traditional and contemporary artwork. From 17th August to 13th September, a group of 10 artists from the region, with various backgrounds, will exhibit artworks at the Gallery of Light at DUCTAC.

From 2nd Sept to 10th September 2010, Warda Haute Couture will open doors to raise funds with all the proceeds of the sales donated to the UAE Red Crescent Association to assist them in providing aid to the Pakistani flood victims. The items will be on sale from Warda Haute Couture Boutique on Al Wasl Road throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.
