Corto Moltedo's Pool Party Celebrating The New Boutique in Milan
Nowness does premiere director Dustin Lynn's splashy film to celebrate the Italian accessories brand's new Milan boutique.
Mr. Dolce & Mr. Gabbana's Interactive Tale of the Fall 2011 Collection
SANTA CECILIA is a document put together from fragments of a video shoot of the daily work involved in the making of the Dolce&Gabbana Women’s Fall/Winter 2012 Collection. Shot by Domenico and Stefano in person in the days preceding the show.
The designers document with a smart phone the creative moments: a skirt that needs to be shortened, an accessory to change, a jacket to give shape. Video-notes that dig into the creative process without any intermediaries. The designers’ point of view is what guides the camera during the run-through of the pre-show and the fitting by putting the attention on the fundamental details of the final looks that will appear on the catwalk.
Lanvin Opens First Boutique in Milan
Lanvin anounces the opening of its first Italian store in Milan, in the famous « Quadrilatero della moda ». Under the creative direction of Alber Elbaz, Lanvin continues to expand further on the European stateside through the opening of a boutique at the heart of Milan. This one occupies the ground floor of a beautiful hotel particulier with character, of more than 100 square meters, at the corner of Via Della Spiga and Via Santo Spirito, both Milanese luxury temples.
As for each new boutique, Alber Elbaz and his team have taken inspiration from the city itself to create an absolute perfect atmosphere. For Milan, the “Scala”, the “Duomo” and as a matter of course fashion, have greatly influenced the architectural details of the store.
Subtile alliance between classicism and modernity, this new boutique invites every women to live and share the dream offered by Lanvin, till then the opening of a store in Rome and then in Bologna.

Ricardo Andrez Fall 2011 Capsule Collection at Lisbon Fashion Week, 12 March
The collection is based on the power of our ancestors’ fairy tale, fascinating and pagan, possessing a mixture of entertainment and high morals, the meeting place between the real and the imaginary, the city and the forest, adult and childhood, in a continuous relationship between the visual contrasting elements which paradoxically meet, just as the necessary coexistence of the real world and the imaginary. These contrasts are highlighted in the collection which progresses rhythmically, using the paradox of the geometries and asymmetries present in each of the pieces and in the collection as a coherent whole, antagonizing at the same time certain contemporary details.
The use of 15 thousand small wooden cubes, in even formats, however under different patterns, using elbow pads with zippers, zippers of gold coloured metal and “dusty” maxi print, are the expression of this fairy tale world. The selected colours either place us in the real urban world by using grey tones, or in the timeless forest, in the nature, the proper context to our relationship in organic beens, by using cream tones, light coloured wood and blue-black, highlighting the conflict between quietness and adventure, real and imaginary which coexist in parallel : the spirit travels through far distant worlds; the body is present in a certain real moment, in a certain part of the city.
The language of the pieces is anchored to the fairy tale, not only through the perspective of the real and the imaginary, but also in the timelessness. Basing ourselves in the mythical instance and persistent fairy tale, this is also a collection whose strong point is continuity. With the passing of the time, it changes and with the deterioration of the pieces, attains new behaviours, new ways of being, just like the fairy tale which transforms itself over time, as the expression of the different realities produced by man.

Bruce LaBruce Polaroid Exhibition at Wrong Weather, Oporto
This weekend it opened the Bruce LaBruce exhibition "Polaroid Rage, Survey 2000-2010" at Wrong Weather boutique in Porto, Portugal.
The exhibition includes a set of 445 Polaroid pictures by this cinematographer, photographer, artist and writer, documenting a decade of performances, held in places such as the Andy Warhol Museum, the Peres Projects Gallery or the Antigua Casa Haiku, with participations by Tony Ward and Slava Mogutin, among others.
