Extreme Telfar Spring/10 collection
With Extreme Telfar’s 10th collection, “Extreme Lengths", I see the designer once again satiating his signature addiction to fit innovations. For instance, there’s a pair of jeans who’s inseams would, if laid out, measure 60 inches long, but Telfar has creased the excess up, and secured the extension with a copper button. Then, of course, he’s added a cargo-sized pocket to the whole thing. It’s a structural, aesthetic element, to be sure - but there’s a practicality to it.
He does his consumer good, sticking to this charitable theme by using heavy, thick corduroy, sporty fleece, American denim and his favorite: sweatshirt fabric done in the way only Telfar can do it. Telfar has already worked with Fila and Dr. Martens in previous seasons, so I know he’s got a fetish for footwear.
This time, Telfar worked with Converse and banged out 18 different designs, all totally Telfar and all a part of the Converse (PRODUCT) RED program, which donates a considerable portion of sales to The Global Fund to eliminate AIDS in Africa. VMAN
