Tribute to Egypt, guest country at Cannes Film Festival 2011

Yesterday the Festival de Cannes invited Egypt and paid homage to its cinema represented by the collective work, 18 Days, which was screened in the Salle du Soixantième in the presence of the filmmakers and an audience that gave a standing ovation.

The homage to Egypt carries on today with the projection in Cannes Classics of The Postman (Al Bostagui) by Hussein Kamal (1968) in a new copy and of the Cry of an Ant by Sameh Abdel Aziz (2011) at the Cinéma de la Plage.
