Swiss watchmaker MB&F, famous for its unconventional and revolutionary design, has just launched its most complex machine to date, the new HM6 'Space Pirate'. Under the case and its 10 domed sapphire crystals, an entirely new calibre composed of no less than 475 components and 68 jewels.
The solid titanium case combines with the organic curves of "biomorphic" industrial design from the 1970s. This titanium case ignores straight lines and flat surfaces, preferring spheres and sweeping arches. A visual and ergonomic delight, but a major manufacturing challenge in terms of machining and finishing.
